Kelly McGill, MFA

Kelly McGill is a professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer born and raised in Upstate New York. Kelly holds an MFA in Dance from the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine and a BFA in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. As an instructor, Kelly specializes in ballet, pointe, yoga, modern, and contemporary dance forms. Kelly has performed professionally with multiple contemporary dance companies including Motion X Dance of Washington, DC and Emergent Dance 2nd Company. Kelly has produced her own choreography on both the East and West Coast and presented dance for film internationally. Currently, Kelly is teaching ballet and modern dance at several area dance schools and as of September, began a new chapter as a company member with Backhaus Dance. Kelly is both a performing company member and an education partner with Backhaus’ Dance for Kindness project. Through Dance for Kindness, Backhaus Dance brings dance education to students in public schools throughout Orange County with a focus on kindness, empathy, and anti-bullying.
